Product feed

noun

Topic: Stock, data and integrations

  1. A file or data stream containing a list of your products, with details such as name, description, price, stock level and image address, in a format that other services can read.
  2. Feeds are how products travel automatically between systems: from your website to Google Shopping, from a supplier to your shop, or from your shop to a marketplace. A tidy, accurate feed saves a great deal of typing; a messy one spreads wrong prices and missing stock everywhere it goes.

Example The supplier sends a new product feed every night, with fresh prices and stock levels.
