Navigation

noun

Topic: Design and layout

  1. The menus and links that let visitors find their way around a website.
  2. Good navigation is obvious without thinking. That usually means a short main menu with plain-English labels, a way to search if you have many products, breadcrumbs showing where you are, and links in the footer to the practical pages. Menus with a dozen items or clever names slow people down. Navigation also helps search engines understand how your pages relate to each other.

Example Cutting the main menu from eleven items to six made it much easier to find the prices page.
