Keyword

noun

Topic: Search and visibility

  1. A word or phrase that people type into a search engine, and that you want your pages to be found for.
  2. Good keyword choice starts with how your customers really talk, not how your trade does. People search for “online shop for handmade pottery”, not “ceramics ecommerce solution”. Long, specific phrases bring fewer visitors, but those visitors are more likely to be ready to buy. Use them naturally in page titles, headings and text; repeating them unnaturally is called keyword stuffing and does more harm than good.

Example She found the shop by searching for the phrase “handmade oak bookcase”.
