Domain name

noun

Topic: Building and running a site

1. The address people type to reach your website, such as futurestore.co.uk.
2. You rent it, usually by the year, from a registrar, and it is separate from hosting, which is where the website itself lives. Keep the registration in your own name with your own login, and make sure it is set to renew automatically, because a lapsed domain can take your website and your email down with it. Short names that are easy to spell work best, and a .co.uk or .com is what most UK customers expect.

Example She registered the domain name years ago and forgot that it was due to renew.
