noun

Topic: Selling online

  1. The part of an online shop where a customer confirms their order, enters delivery and payment details, and pays.
  2. It is where sales are won or lost. A good checkout asks only for what it needs, shows the full cost, including delivery, before the final step, works well on a phone, and offers the payment methods people expect. Every extra field or surprise costs you a few customers.

Example She added the lamp to her basket, went to the checkout and paid with a saved card in under a minute.
