Accessibility
- Designing and building a website so that everyone can use it, including people with poor eyesight, limited movement, hearing loss, dyslexia or other disabilities.
- In practice it means readable text with enough contrast against its background, a layout that works with the keyboard alone, descriptive text for images, labelled form fields, and pages that work with screen readers. It also helps everyone else: people on small screens, in bright sunlight or on a slow connection. In the UK the Equality Act expects services, including websites, to be reasonably accessible, and Google’s own testing tools check for many of the same things.
Example Increasing the contrast of the grey text made the prices much easier to read for everyone.
